Scott Michael Danielson was a dedicated Navy SEAL who tragically lost his life during a training exercise on February 21st, 2001, off the coast of Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was 26 years old.

Born and raised in Berkley, Michigan, Scott was known for his adventurous spirit and unwavering loyalty to his friends and family. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on January 21, 1992, eager to serve his country. He began his active duty with basic training at NTC Great Lakes, Illinois, in September of that year. After completing basic training, he served as a Hull Maintenance Technician aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN-65) from December 1992 to May 1996.

Driven by a desire to serve his country in a more demanding role, Petty Officer Danielson volunteered for the challenging path to become a Navy SEAL. He successfully completed the grueling Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training, SEAL Qualification Training, and Basic Airborne School. He further specialized by completing SEAL Delivery Vehicle training, showcasing his commitment to mastering diverse skills.

From October 1997, Petty Officer Danielson served with SEAL Team EIGHT at NAB Little Creek, Virginia. He was a valued member of his team, known for his dedication and professionalism. Tragically, his life was cut short during a night over-the-beach exercise when the boat he was in capsized, resulting in a fatal neck injury.

Scott Michael Danielson's commitment to service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. He is remembered by his family, friends, and fellow SEALs as a true American hero. His legacy serves as a reminder of the dedication and bravery required of those who defend our nation.
