Born and raised in Cohasset, Massachusetts, Michael embodied the spirit of service from a young age. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend, known for his kindness, dedication, and unwavering commitment to helping others. After graduating from Thayer Academy and Denison College, Michael felt a calling to serve his country and enlisted in the Navy in 2009.
He quickly distinguished himself, completing the grueling training required to become a Navy SEAL in 2012. Assigned to an East Coast-based naval special warfare unit, Michael bravely faced the nation's toughest challenges. He was a valued member of SEAL Team 10, where he earned the respect and admiration of his teammates for his exceptional skills, leadership, and unwavering dedication.
Michael's commitment to his fellow SEALs extended beyond the battlefield. He was known as a selfless mentor, always willing to lend a hand and guide those around him. His quiet professionalism and genuine care for others left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Throughout his career, Michael received numerous awards and decorations, including the Silver Star, the military's third-highest award for valor in combat. This prestigious honor, along with his Joint Service Commendation Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and other accolades, testifies to his courage and commitment to duty.
Michael's legacy extends far beyond his military achievements. He was a loving husband and devoted father. His wife, Megan, and their children were the center of his world. He cherished the time he spent with his family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Though his life was tragically cut short, Michael's impact will be felt for generations to come. He will be remembered as a true American hero who exemplified the values of courage, honor, and selfless service. His story serves as an inspiration to us all, reminding us of the sacrifices made by those who defend our freedom.
