James Erik Suh, a name etched in the annals of Navy SEAL history, represents the epitome of courage, dedication, and selfless service. Born in 1977, Suh's journey led him to become a Quartermaster Second Class (QM2) in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. His path, however, was one of extraordinary valor, as he joined the ranks of the elite SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team 1 (SDVT-1).

Suh's commitment to his country led him to the treacherous terrains of Afghanistan, where he played a crucial role in Operation Red Wings. This mission, aimed at disrupting anti-coalition militia activities, tragically claimed the lives of Suh and seven other SEALs on June 28, 2005. Their MH-47 Chinook helicopter was shot down in Asadabad, marking a somber day in the history of the Navy SEALs.

Despite the tragic loss, Suh's legacy lives on. He was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal with "V" device for valor, a testament to his bravery in the face of danger. He also received the Purple Heart, honoring his ultimate sacrifice for his nation.

Suh's story is not just one of military accomplishments; it's a tale of a young man who dedicated his life to serving his country. He was a graduate of the University of Florida, showcasing his commitment to education and personal growth.
